Looking for an easy way to be productive during your daily commute or coffee break? The BIGteam loves listening to podcasts – they educate and entertain at the same time! With thousands of podcasts available, it can be tough knowing where to start. Keep reading for a list of the BIGteam’s favorite podcasts that are great for PR pros!

The PR Week
Catch up on the latest news and trends in the PR industry with The PR Week, a weekly podcast from PRWeek. Recent topics include starting your own business, forming a corporate purpose, dissecting strategies from PR agencies, and analyzing how technology impacts the entire industry. The PR Week features frequent cameo appearances by influential public relations leaders, like the CEO of Weber Shandwick, the CCO of IBM, and the director of outreach for the United Nations. With episodes ranging from 12 to 40 minutes, this podcast can easily fit into an on-the-go schedule or the much-needed lazy day.

The Daily
It is essential for PR pros to stay on top of current events and track changes in public opinion. This podcast by Michael Barbaro of The New York Times presents interesting news topics in a succinct manner, offering an overview of current events and then diving deeper into a particular issue with interviews with experts on the topic. Each morning for 20 – 30 minutes a day, five days a week, The Daily covers everything from party primary debates to the JUUL vaping epidemic. Understanding the news through quick, informative podcasts can help PR pros determine how clients fit into the broader narrative of the daily news.

Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing
One of the most important skills for PR pros is clear, concise writing. Luckily, Mignon Fogarty (aka Grammar Girl), makes learning how to elevate our writing more entertaining through short and sweet podcasts. Quick and Dirty Tips offers life hacks on improving writing by focusing on refining punctuation, style, structure, word choice and grammar within a text. We’re not the only ones who love this podcast: Quick and Dirty Tips has secured a place in the Podcasting Hall of Fame

The Thing About Pam
The BIGteam cannot resist a good true crime podcast. We recently held a podcast club meeting for the Dateline NBC original The Thing About Pam, where a diabolical scheme emerges surrounding Betsy Faria’s death, including one man’s death and another’s implication.
