The spring is always an insanely busy time here at BIGfish: post-CES follow up, Taste of Iceland, press events and much, much more, so we rely heavily on our interns to help out with some pretty important projects. This semester we were lucky enough to have not one but two incredibly talented and hardworking public relations interns on our team: Bella & Karoline. They helped with social media, media lists, pitching (and securing coverage for our clients!), writing blog posts and a plethora of other things. Keep reading to learn more about their time at BIGfish.
Ah, the bottom of the totem pole: where everyone has to start. Working in a fast-paced, buzzing office with professionals to your left and right who know the industry inside and out is exciting and very intimidating all at the same time. However, at BIGfish, being the intern in the office definitely has its perks and is an incredibly meaningful opportunity.
Here at BIGfish, there’s rarely a day that isn’t jam-packed with time-sensitive projects and an abundance of client work, but the fall season is especially busy. Our holiday gift guide pitching is in full swing, we’re busy gearing up for CES (more on that here), and coordinating three Taste of Iceland events that happen around the country, among a variety of other projects for all of our clients. Because we’re so busy, we heavily rely on our PR and copywriting interns to help out with some important projects - building media lists, writing pitches (and sending them, too!), publishing articles on Iceland Naturally and assisting with social media - just to name a few.
