Tell us a little bit about your background: I recently graduated from Northeastern University here in Boston with a B.A. in Communication Studies in a Minor in Psychology. I completed my first public relations internship at Cone in the summer of 2012, where I worked in the Brand Marketing division.  I fell in love with the industry through the new and innovative campaigns that I was working on. This experience both opened my eyes to the intricacies of PR agency life, and also affirmed that this was a career path I was definitely interested in pursuing further. I completed a six-month full-time work experience through Northeastern’s Co-op program at 360PR, where I continued to work on a mix of consumer products and technology clients. My final internship prior to matriculation was at a boutique agency, CM Communications, where I worked on local restaurant and hospitality accounts.
Why did you want to work for BIGfish? I knew that I wanted continue my professional career in the public relations industry, and was initially drawn to BIGfish by the impressive client roster and innovative campaigns that the agency was responsible for executing. After meeting with the team and learning more about the agency, I was even more excited about the prospect of working with such inventive and entrepreneurial-minded people. The possibility of starting my career at a company with such a great culture, and learning from leading industry professionals, was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.
Describe yourself in 5 words: Motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, approachable, funny!
Favorite restaurant: This is always the most challenging question…there are so many good ones! I’d probably have to say this small breakfast place in my hometown called Kitchen Cravings. Everything is delicious and there’s something really homey and cozy about it.
What do you hope to accomplish in your new role? One of the things that I’m most excited about in starting my full-time career is the opportunity to take on more responsibility and have a tangible, positive impact on the different accounts that I’m working on. Public relations is an industry where there is tremendous opportunity for professional growth, so I hope to learn as much as possible, drive meaningful results, and continue to grow and better myself professionally.
Anything else we should know about you? I love running and dogs!
