Following Apple’s impressive event earlier this fall that introduced the Series 4 Apple Watch and the iPhone XS, the latest Apple event brought equally exciting updates to the tech world. The event debuted long-awaited updates for the MacBook Air, iPad, Apple Pencil and iOS 12.1 and even featured a special performance from Lana Del Rey!

This year’s new MacBook Air has an almost entirely new design. Weighing less than ever before, the device has 17% less volume, is 10% thinner, and is available in silver, space gray, and gold. Following Apple’s new dedication to environmentally-friendly products, the new MacBook Air is made out of 100% recycled aluminum, greatly reducing the devices’ carbon footprint. The 13.3 inch display, more responsive keyboard, and touch ID are among the product’s most notable updates.

The new iPad Pro is sleeker and faster than ever. The device is now 15% slimmer, with rounded edges, and has a nearly edge-to-edge screen display. Apple also did away with the device’s home button and headphone jack. The iPad is projected to have 1000x faster graphics, 1TB of storage, a USB-C port, and Face ID. With these new features the iPad Pro can easily be used as a workstation.

The Apple Pencil is the perfect tool for taking notes or getting in touch with your creative side while using your new iPad Pro. The new pencil tool allows the user to mark things up, take screenshots, or even draw with a variety of brushes directly on apps like Keynote. When it needs a charge, it magnetically attaches to the iPad Pro and charges wirelessly.

Also introduced was iOS 12.1 which brings users a much-desired group FaceTime feature, as well as over 70 new emojis. With the new update the user can even customize their own “memojis.” The group FaceTime can feature up to 32 people at once with the tile of the person speaking enlarging while they talk. Designed to make your devices faster and more responsive, it includes up to a 50% faster keyboard display, 70% faster swipe to camera, and 2x faster app launch in heavy workload.

Concluding the event was a surprise performance from Lana Del Rey. The singer sang two new songs, the previously released single “Venice Bitch” and a never-heard-before song titled “How to Disappear”.
