Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing day-to-day communications and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and objectives.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and strategy sessions, providing expert counsel on PR tactics and strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to enhance their public profiles and suggest new PR initiatives.

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop comprehensive PR strategies and campaigns that align with client goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of PR plans, ensuring that all activities are on schedule, within budget, and deliver desired outcomes.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze results, and provide clients with detailed reports and actionable insights.
  • Adjust strategies and tactics as needed to optimize results and respond to changing circumstances.

Media Relations

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media contacts, influencers, and industry leaders.
  • Lead media outreach efforts, including pitching stories, securing media placements, and managing media inquiries.
  • Stay informed about media trends and opportunities that could benefit clients.
  • Prepare clients for media interviews, including providing media training and key messaging guidance.
  • Oversee the creation of press releases, articles, op-eds, and other content for clients.
  • Ensure all content is high-quality, on-brand, and aligned with client messaging.
  • Collaborate with clients to produce media assets, such as videos, podcasts, and infographics.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, helping them develop their skills and advance in their careers.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring that all team members contribute to client success.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new team members as needed.

Crisis Communication

  • Provide strategic counsel to clients during crisis situations, helping to manage public perception and mitigate damage.
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plans, including key messaging and media outreach.
  • Act as a spokesperson for clients if needed, handling sensitive media inquiries and public statements.

Required Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience in public relations, with a strong focus on client management and media relations. Agency experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful PR campaigns.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong media relations skills and an established network of media contacts.
  • Proficiency in PR tools and software, such as Muck Rack, or similar platforms
  • Experience with some digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
