The BIGteam is excited to have not one, but two interns working with us this semester! Joining the team for the semester is Gary Prendiville, a junior at Boston University, and Abbey Treamer, a senior at Suffolk University. We are all excited to see the great work these two turn out this semester. We had them answer a few questions about themselves and their aspirations – read on to find out what they have to say!

Tell us a little bit about your background:
I am a junior at Boston University studying public relations and political science. Over this past summer, I interned at two different PR firms in Los Angeles, one firm focusing on fashion and hospitality while the other specialized in healthy food and lifestyle brands. Outside of classes, I am involved with BU’s community service and the College of Communication’s TV Station, BUTV10. In addition, I am also a member of the men’s club water polo team on campus.
What attracted you to BIGfish?
BIGfish was attractive to me because I liked the small size of the company yet the high level of professionalism the firm radiates. For how prestigious yet small BIGfish is,  I feel like I will get a true hands-on experience while interning here.

Loyal, spontaneous, ESFP, dog person, natural blonde
What’s your favorite food?
COFFEE (I know, I know… it’s not ~food~ but whatever)
What are you most excited to experience now that you’re living in Boston?
Since I’m from Southern California, I’m still amazed by this weird concept called “seasons.” Although it does get chilly, I truly love it when the leaves change in the fall.
What do you hope to accomplish in your new role?
I hope to become more knowledgeable in different ways of reaching out to the public. I also want to be able to become more tech savvy with new programs I’m not as familiar with.
Anything else we should know about you?

• My most desperate claim to fame is that I was on DJ Khaled’s Snapchat story for about two seconds.
• I’m a black belt in Taekwondo (so don’t mess).
• I have 3 pet tortoises at home.

Tell us a little bit about your background:
I’m from New Hampshire but recently moved to Boston to attend Suffolk University. I am currently a senior studying Public Relations. I’ve had past internships where I learned about non-profit PR, corporate PR and healthcare PR, though I am still trying to figure out which direction I want to take. When not in classes I am typically working at my part-time retail job or exploring Boston.
What attracted you to BIGfish? 
I liked BIGfish because of the small firm size and variety of clients. I wanted to gain more hands-on experience while still learning about a new side of PR.

What’s your favorite food?
Tacos.
What are you most excited to experience now that you’re living in Boston?
Now that I live in Boston, I am most excited to eat my way through the city. I love venturing to new restaurants and seeing all of the fun drinks and food specialties they have to offer. I’m always looking for new recommendations!
What do you hope to accomplish in your new role?
At BIGfish, I hope I am able to become more confident in my writing and establish new tools to prepare myself for the PR world after graduating.

• I’m definitely a cat person, though I do like dogs as well.

• I am addicted to binge-watching TV shows.
