With the last days of summer slipping away and September in full swing, it’s time to pick our fave app of the month. This month, we chose an app that the BIGteam loves to use for social media, and even here on the BIGblog! Keep reading to find out why September’s app of the month is Canva.

What It Is:

The Canva mobile app brings designing graphics like blog banners and social media images right to your fingertips. It has all the same fan-favorite features from the Canva mobile site, but allows creators to edit and post directly from their phone. Plus, the app is available for iPhone, iPad, Android Mobile and Android Tablet.

Why We Love It:

The BIGteam has always loved Canva for desktop and were thrilled to hear the designs we created would now be available on mobile. From creating banners for the BIGblog, to graphics for Instagram stories, the Canva app makes the design process smooth and simple. Plus, the mobile app has some added benefits that make curating and posting social content that much easier. Some highlights include:

  • With the “live camera” feature, users can select “camera” and snap a photo for their design on the fly. You can even preview the text in your graphic as an overlay when taking the picture in order to maximize the visibility and aesthetic of your design.
  • The ability to add video content right into your design makes for quick and fun Instagram story creation!
  • Mobile support for filters reigns supreme over desktop, and with an increased range of filters on the Canva app, creators can customize and adjust their images with even more precision.

Tips for Using It:

The app functions very similarly to the desktop version, allowing you to create professional designs in a few easy steps. When you select which design you are going to create, the app gives you a multitude of template options to get the ball rolling, or you can choose to start from a blank canvas. From there, creators can add photo and video content, text, illustrations, logos and more. Be sure to start your design with the correct format for the platform you’re posting on, that way no part of the graphic is cut off when it comes time to upload!

How To Get It:

The Canva app is available for download through Apple, Google, or the desktop site! Additionally, check out the Canva Learn blog to gain some insider advice and inspiration.
