Social Media Intern

The Social Media Intern supports the development and execution of social media strategies across client accounts and for the agency. This role is ideal for a creative, organized, digitally savvy individual who is eager to learn and gain hands-on experience in social media management, content creation, analytics, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Publishing

  • Assist in developing social media content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.
  • Draft engaging copy, source visuals, and help build short-form videos or graphics.
  • Schedule and publish content using social media management tools.
  • Help maintain content calendars to ensure consistent posting across channels.

Community Engagement

  • Monitor social media channels for comments, questions, and brand mentions.
  • Support community management by responding to messages, escalating issues, and fostering positive engagement.
  • Track conversations and trends related to clients’ industries and audiences.

Campaign Support

  • Assist in the execution of social media campaigns, including product launches, awareness initiatives, and brand storytelling.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for social content and campaigns.
  • Help coordinate influencer outreach and content tracking when needed.

Research & Analysis

  • Conduct research on social media trends, competitor activity, platform updates, and best practices to inform client strategies.
  • Track performance metrics and compile regular reports, highlighting key insights and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in monitoring social listening tools to surface relevant insights and audience behaviors.

 

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with account teams and senior staff to support ongoing client activities.
  • Participate in internal meetings, taking notes, and assisting with follow-up tasks.
  • Contribute to integrated marketing and PR initiatives by aligning social media efforts with broader campaign objectives.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and emerging digital trends.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • Basic knowledge of social media tools such as Canva, Later, Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
  • Familiarity with short-form video creation (TikTok, Reels) is a plus.
  • Interest in PR, marketing, digital content, or brand strategy.
