BIGfish is seeking an experienced and skilled publicist to act as Senior Account Manager. Public relations, marketing or communications degree and relevant experience required. Communication expertise, strong media contacts, exceptional client management skills and a passion for technology are essential to succeed in this position.

About the job

The Senior Account Manager plays an important role in supporting the Account Director, Vice President of Accounts and the entire account team by strategically planning and executing PR programs and maintaining strong relationships with both reporters and BIGfish clients.

Senior Account Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Account Management

  • Provide professional PR counsel and superior account service to BIGfish clients.
  • Work closely with Account Director to assist in overseeing members of the account team.
  • Manage day-to-day client activities for assigned clients, including: researching, planning, implementing and evaluating activities, paying careful attention to budgets, resources, deadlines and client records.
  • Maintain close and frequent contact with assigned BIGfish clients and continually strive to strengthen relationships with them.
  • Manage regularly-scheduled calls with assigned clients and coordinate scheduling, agendas and notes.
  • Coordinate and supervise staff and vendors needed to carry out client service requirements.
  • Ensure that supervisor is kept fully informed on activities of team, media and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee execution of effective, strategic, well-organized, well-written public relations campaigns.
  • Effectively execute public relations campaigns through planning, media outreach, content creation and event participation to drive measurable results.
  • Monitor, report and evaluate campaign success and adjust as necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the press.
  • Assist clients with onsite media opportunities and regularly attend press events on behalf of clients.
  • Oversee and assist with the development of media kits, press releases, thought leadership articles and collateral.
  • Coordinate events, awards and speaking engagements for assigned clients.
  • Oversee and assist with the development of strategic messaging and positioning documents.
  • Research industry trends and stay up-to-date on current events and news. Seek out professional development opportunities.
  • Work with Account Director and Vice President to continually identify opportunities for BIGfish to improve and grow as an organization.
  • Participate in developing new business opportunities and drafting proposals, as needed.
