BIGclient Beaver Country Day School Aims To Return to SXSWedu Stage

by Chelsea Higgins

boston public relations technology

BIGfish client Beaver Country Day School hopes to return to SXSWedu 2019 with an important message: social media and virtual reality can be used to build empathy and emotional skills. Beaver has prepared a SXSWedu proposal that would suggest ways schools could incorporate social media lessons into their curricula in order to prompt students to consider the gravity of digital activity. This program would offer tools educators could use to teach students to examine their own digital behavior and recognize the impact their social presence can wield. It would also  emphasize the importance of flexible curriculums, as realms of learning in the digital age are emerging constantly. Beaver is excited about the opportunity to return to the SXSWedu stage, but since votes from the public count for 30% of programming selection, they need the community’s help to get there! To vote for this topic, simply create a free account at the panelpicker site, log in and give their proposal (linked here) an “up vote” by August 30th!

When’s The Right Time to Start Doing Holiday Gift Guide Outreach?

by Chelsea Higgins

marketing our team public relations

If you walked into the BIGfish office today, you would see the acronym HGG dotted all over our to-do lists, project tracking grids and August goals. So, what is requiring so much of the account team’s attention in August? Holiday gift guides, curated lists of top gift ideas for everyone on your holiday shopping list published by your favorite digital and print outlets. Yep that’s right: the sun is still warm, the birds are still chirping, and Red Sox are still the main focus of Boston sport fans, but the holidays are at the front of our minds at BIGfish.

How to Get Press at CES

by Chelsea Higgins

consumer electronics public relations technology

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) is one of the most prolific tech trade shows in the world. Tech companies from all over descend on Las Vegas for a week in January to announce new products and get face time with some of the most well-known reporters and outlets in the industry. With 6,645 registered press members attending CES in 2018, the opportunities to tell a company's story are boundless. However, there is tremendous competition to have products and announcements stand out in the noise of CES. Finding the right PR partner early can help a company effectively navigate CES and ensure participation in the show is successful and generates lasting results.
